Trail Adventures is a local Oamaru based, family owned and operated company which has been set up to provide you with a range of Alps 2 Ocean cycle adventures suited to everyone. If you wish to get a taste of the ‘REAL NZ’ and cycle through some of New Zealand’s most diverse and picturesque landscapes, Trail Adventures will tailor a trip to suit you or you can join one our pre-arranged Self Guided Tours Below.
Self Guided Tours
Let Trail Adventures use their knowledge of the area and cycling experience to provide you with the best A2O trail experience! You can feel confident that “we’ve got your back” whilst you enjoy riding this wonderful cycle trail also allowing you plenty of freedom through out the ride to do your own thing. We can arrange all of your accommodation and transport needs and provide opportunities to explore the many fantastic activities along the way. Airport pickup and drop off is included in our packages, keeping the continuity through out your adventure.
Cycle the region with Trail Adventures
Trail Adventures have chosen quality hybrid bikes as being best suited to the A2O trail. They are set up for touring, and come complete with disk brakes, rear panniers, spare tube bag, drink bottle holder and pump. Merida 27.5 MTB’s are also available to hire as are our awesome Merida E – Bikes if you wish to make your trip just that bit easier – or to help you keep up with that “fitter than yourself” partner. We will do our best to provide any other equipment also if required to meet your needs. Child’s trailers, tag along bikes, kids seats, racks and bike trailers are also available for hire.
The Alps 2 Ocean Trail
The Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail is truly one of New Zealand’s great rides!
For over 300 km and dropping in altitude 780m, visitors can experience some of the most beautiful scenery New Zealand has to offer.
Suitable for all ages, the trail is mostly of an easy grade, and offers a pleasing mix of on and off-road trails which link the Southern Alps to the mighty Pacific Ocean.

December 26th A2O Self guided 8 nights
Jayne, Roger, Scott, Nicholas and Alex (13) have just finished the trip. Much more fun and diverse than the rail trail in Central Otago. Accommodation and equipment all top class and a special thanks to Scott (and his family) tremendous and caring hosts.
